Community Creative Producer, Tongal Inc

June 2022 - Present

For each client, Taylor is responsible for creating and updating the project page within the Tongal platform. Once a pitch has been selected, she acts as a liaison between clients and filmmakers as Tongal goes from pitch, pre-production, production, to final wrap-up.

Comic Writer - "Dawn of Maw,"  Arlorosa Films

May 2021 - Present

Taylor is creator and author of the webcomic Dawn of Maw, which released its first episode on Webtoon Canvas on August 30th. Her sister, Sabrina Claman, illustrates the webcomic. Taylor is also developing this story as a novel.

Judge, NYC Midnight Writing Competition

August 2020 - Present, Freelance

When a round of the contest finishes, Taylor reads groups of stories and provides feedback to each of the contest participants.

Mentee, "Ready, Set, Write!"

October 2022 - December 2022

Taylor enrolled in a six week course lead by acclaimed author, and former Disney executive, Catherine Connors.

Mentee, Women In Animation Mentorship Program

September 2021 - January 2022

Claman was selected for for the Fall 2021 mentorship program, "Breaking Into Writing by Building Community and Making Connections," lead by Oscar Lemus, who has worked for HBO and Disney. This program was created by the organization Women In Animation.

Paralegal, Aust Schmiechen, P.A.

March 2020 - March 2021

Claman worked as a Paralegal at an immigration law firm in Minneapolis. She used her Spanish fluency frequently in this position. She communicated with clients, requested records from agencies, and compiled cases (I-485s, One Steps, I-130s, I-601s, etc). She conducted research and filled out immigration forms. She previously worked as the Legal Assistant and Receptionist, but she was promoted in July of 2020.

Writer / Script Supervisor / Co-director / Producer - "The Rot Within" Short Film

September 2019 - May 2020

Claman wrote, co-directed, and produced the short film "The Rot Within" as an adaptation of her previously published poem "One October Night." After Claman wrote the script in both Spanish and English, she put out a casting call and selected the actors who would play each role. Once she had her cast set, she organized a production schedule with Co-Director Connor Aden. Claman and Aden contacted and confirmed all the necessary filming locations and made a filming schedule for these locations. On set, Claman worked with the actors, as the rest of her production team set up lights, camera, and sound equipment. During filming, Claman acted as Co-Director and Script Supervisor.

Freelance Content Writer, SteadyContent

May 2019 - December 2019

As Content Writer for SteadyContent, Claman researched the assigned topics, reviewed similar articles, and wrote engaging work in the requested SteadyContent format.

Temporary Legal Writer - Samuel Christensen Law Firm, PLLC

April 2019 - May 2019

As a temporary legal writer, Claman was contracted to prepare support and recommendation letters for O-1 visa applicants, which required: reading client resumes, reviewing client portfolios, taking notes on the client, researching their recommenders, and applying the information in the letters with professional language.

Fulbright Study / Research Arts Grant 2019-2020 Semi-Finalist

October 2018 - March 2019

Claman started planning her Fulbright project proposal in January 2018. After submitting her application in October 2018, Claman waited to receive the news of whether her application would be passed from the National Committee to the International Committee for further evaluation. After being announced a Semi-Finalist in January 2019, Claman was notified in March that her application was ultimately not selected to be a Fulbright Finalist.

Finalist - 2019 Big Apple Film Festival and Screenwriting Competition (Winter Edition)

January 2019

Connor Aden and Claman co-wrote a short film called "Lost in Tandem" which they submitted to the 2019 Big Apple Film Festival and Screenwriting Competition (Winter Edition) in December 2018. Their script was selected as a finalist for the competition and won five free pitches to Virtual Pitch Fest. They are currently working on polishing the pilot episode that they co-wrote (based on their short film "Lost in Tandem").

Writer / Co-Director / Producer - "Phoenix" Music Video

October 2018 - December 2018

Claman wrote, co-directed and produced the music video "Phoenix" for local hip hop artist, Michael "Prodagy" Boateng (2018). After Claman wrote the script, she created a production schedule, put out the casting call, and selected the actors who would play each role. Claman contacted and confirmed all of the necessary locations for filming and made a filming schedule for those locations. Once on set, Claman worked with the actors while her co-director, Connor Aden, set up lights, camera and sound equipment. While Aden filmed, Claman acted as boom operator.

Publication - Translate Iowa Project's Boundless: Issue 2

May 2018

Claman submitted an original poem in both English and Spanish to Translate Iowa Project's multilingual literary magazine Boundless: Issue 2. Her poem "Una noche de octubre" and its translation "One October Night" were selected to be published that May (2018).

Playwright - Las ratas callejeras / The Street Rats

January 2018 - June 2018

As one of Claman's honors theses, Claman wrote a full length Spanish play, inspired by her experiences in Argentina, as well as what she had learned from her Spanish classes about the loss of innocence and marginalization of children in some Latin American countries. After writing her thesis, she arranged to have a two night reading of her play (one night in Spanish, one night in English) during the June following her graduation (Iowa City, IA). Sayde Hampton co-directed the reading with Claman. They gathered a cast of bilingual local actors and rehearsed four times before the production (2018).

Spanish Translator / Editor - Translate Iowa Project

August 2017 - May 2018

As one of the Spanish Translators for the Boundless magazine, published by the Translate Iowa Project, Claman submitted Spanish translations of English pieces and proofread Spanish submissions. She also translated other university documents throughout the year.

Drama Editor / Translation Liaison - Earthwords: The Undergraduate Literary Magazine, Issue 38

August 2017 - May 2018

As a member of the editorial team of the Earthwords Undergraduate Literary Magazine, she attended weekly meetings to discuss and plan the production of the Earthwords magazine. She read and helped select the final pieces for publication. Additionally, Claman and her team organized the Drama Contest, and she directed the rehearsal for the readings of the Drama Contest winners.

Bilingual Creative Mentor - Spanish Creative Literacy Outreach (University of Iowa)

September 2017 - April 2018

Claman worked with bilingual children, ages 5-12, once a week at Hills Elementary in Hills, Iowa. Claman acted as a bilingual creative mentor, encouraging the children to speak in only in Spanish while doing the creative activities. She also planned and directed which bilingual creative activities the children would work on.

Publication - Now That We're Loud: Survivors Speak

November 10th, 2017

On November 10th, 2017, survivors of sexual violence gathered at RadInc in Iowa City to share their experiences and speak out. This chapbook, curated by Kalena Meyer and Emmalyn Brown, is a collection of written works that the survivors shared. A special thanks to Danny Khalastchi and the Magid Center.

Playwright - Starfire

September 2017 - October 2017

After finishing the first draft of her play Starfire during the spring of 2016, Claman submitted her play to the University of Iowa Theatre Arts Department for consideration in April 2017. Claman's play was selected for a fall gallery production. Working with her director, Sayde Hampton, Claman rewrote the play more than nine times that summer. Once September rolled around, they cast their production and started rehearsals. Their play ran in Theatre B of the University of Iowa Theatre Arts Department from October 12 to October 15 of 2017.

Publication - Translate Iowa Project's Boundless: Issue 1

May 2017

Claman submitted to the Translate Iowa Project's multilingual literary magazine Boundless in January 2017. Her Spanish poem "Placeres raros" was published alongside a Japanese translation of the poem. Also selected for Boundless: Issue 1 were her Spanish short story "Flotando en el mar" and her English translation "The Pampa" (May 2017).

Publication - Earthwords: The Undergraduate Literary Review, Issue 37

May 2017

Claman submitted to Earthwords: The Undergraduate Literary Review, Issue 37, in October, 2016. They informed her in December that she was selected to be published in Issue 37. Her short story "Gloria" (an excerpt and adaptation from her play Starfire) was published in the literary magazine in May 2017.

Translator and Transcriber - Mario Ancewicz (Buenos Aires)

October 2016 - December 2016

As a translator and transcriber for Mario Ancewicz, Claman listened to episodes of the company's erotic film series, Danza Prohibida. She transcribed ten episodes originally in Castellano and later translated the script to English. She also translated part of their feature film, Selena, to English and proofread the rest of their English script (Buenos Aires, Argentina).

Intern - Aníbal Gulluni and Sol Titiunik (Buenos Aires)

July 2016 - December 2016

While studying abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Claman interned with Aníbal Gulluni (director, actor, and playwright) and Sol Titiunik (actress, director, and teacher). While interning with Gulluni, Claman attended the play rehearsals for his play that he was directing. She also took a few voice lessons from him. While interning with Titiunik, Claman attended Titiunik's acting class and met regularly with the other students. Claman observed the other students as they rehearsed the scenes that they would perform at their final showcase.

Publication - Calmar Courier: Vol. 35, Issue 47

November 2013

During her final year at South Winneshiek High School, Claman wrote an article titled "Veteran's Day Program at SW," which was featured in the Calmar Courier. Her article was published in Vol. 35, Issue 47 on November 19, 2013.
